Prototal uses cookies on the website www.prototalindustries.com to make your website visit more enjoyable.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a text file with information that is saved to your computer when you visit a website (or on a corresponding device with Internet connection, such as a tablet or mobile). Cookies are used to make webpages work more effectively, as well as to provide the owner of a website with certain types of information. This may be about storing the language chosen or other preferences to make it easier for the website visitor on their next visit. Cookies make it possible to keep different users separate from each other, so that each user can better enjoy their website experience.
Types of cookies
There are two types of cookies: permanent cookies and session cookies. Both these types of cookies are used on Prototal’s website. Permanent cookies are stored as a file on the computer for a certain period, until you delete them on the website itself or the server that sent them deletes them. Session cookies are stored temporarily while you are surfing a website and disappear when you close your browser.
We use cookies to make it easier to use the website, and to customise what is used to the user. However, the information collected via cookies does not contain any personal information, but is used to determine the user’s pattern of use in respect of our web services.
Prototal.se also has cookies to calculate and report the number of users and the site traffic. We also use so-called third-party cookies from other companies to carry out market research and traffic measurements.
On Prototal’s website, content and sharing tools from social networks, such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, may be embedded. These providers may in turn be using cookies on Prototal’s website. Prototal cannot access or control these cookies or the personal data and information they may collect. You should therefore check these providers’ websites for further information as to how they handle cookies, what information they collect and how you can remove and block them.
Cookies used on our website
– _utmb is used to determine the length and number of pageviews on the website and is saved for 30 minutes after it was last created or updated.
– _utmz is used to keep track of how the visitor found the website and is saved for six months.
– _utma is used to identify unique visitors and is saved for two years.
– _utmc is not used in ga.js. Set for interoperability with urchin.js. Historically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the __utmb cookie to determine whether the user was in a new session/visit. Disappears when the session/visit is terminated.
– Asp.Net is used to identify the user and log-ins and is only stored until the session is closed
– _ga is used to collect data in anonymised form in order to identify and register users. This is done with the aid of a number generated at random. The data is used to measure and analyse visit patterns, behaviour and the number of visitors to the website. The information can then be used to improve the website’s functions and your user experience. It is saved for two years.
Deletion and blocking of cookies
Most web browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can block and remove cookies using settings in your browser. How this is done differs from browser to browser, and you can read more about it in the instructions for the browser or in the help function present in most browsers.
